The Eureka 15-year-old All-Stars broke open a 2-2 tie in the seventh inning, scoring two runs to beat Del Norte 4-2 at the Eureka Babe Ruth Field Saturday, advancing to the District One semifinal today against Siskiyous at 1 p.m.
Eureka starting pitcher Bobby Branchini had seven strikeouts in a complete-game win, while at the plate, Cody Weatherbee was 2-for-3 with an RBI and Eugene Palmer was 1-for-3 with two RBIs.
For Del Norte, Kyle Van Dyke was 2-for-3.
Del Norte will play the loser of the 1 p.m. game at 4 p.m. today in the other tournament semifinal.

Arcata 2
Eel River’s James Slade threw seven innings on the mound and had a single, two doubles and three RBIs at the plate as the team beat Arcata 9-2 at McKinleyville’s Hiller Park on Saturday.
Eel River’s James Martin had a two-run single in the third inning, while Tucker Boos and Kevin Will both drove in a run.
Tom Souza threw five innings in relief of Joel Lindblom and went 3-for-3 at the plate for Arcata.

Siskiyous 4
McKinleyville’s Zach Rowe went 5-for-5 with a double, Michael Saveliff finished 4-for-4 with two doubles, and pitcher Ryan Patrick threw three innings and struck out five to get the win over Siskiyous.
With the victory, McKinleyville advances to play Eel River today at 1 p.m., while Siskiyous will play Arcata at 10 a.m.

Eureka starting pitcher Matt Kirk allowed just two hits in five innings of work Saturday, picking up five strikeouts, and the Eureka 13-year-old All-Stars 10-run ruled McKinleyville at Newburg Park in Fortuna.
Leading the way at the plate for Eureka was Wyatt Standley, who went 2-for-4 with three RBIs, while for McKinleyville, Parker Farris was 1-for-2 with a double.

Eel River’s Cole Collings and Jordan Franks each went 3-for-4 with three RBIs, and the All-Stars went on to beat Siskiyous 9-2.
Eel River opened the game with five consecutive singles, and plated four runs in the first inning.
Collings went four innings on the mound to pick up the win, striking out three and walking none.
